FAQ

Participants are provided work experience upon completion of vocational training in their occupational area. Other participants who begin the program with current hard skills may be placed directly at a site. The average number of hours for work experience ranges between 100 and 500 hours. If you successfully complete work experience you can earn an incentive of $100.

Kern High School District, Career Resource Department received $2,631,868 in funding for program year 2023-2024. 47% or $1,253,500 from the US Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The balance of the funds comes from the state Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), $300,000 and CalWORKS $1,078,368.
